Safe Church Committee

Forest Lake Baptist Church

At FLBC, we care deeply about creating a safe and nurturing environment for every child and young person who comes through our doors. As our church has grown, so has our commitment to safeguarding the children and youth in our care.

That’s where the Safe Children Committee comes in.

We're a team of leaders working together to ensure that everything we do—from Sunday kids' church to youth and worship ministry—happens with child safety front and centre. We meet each term to review our policies, stay up to date with legislation, and make sure our practices are genuinely protective and supportive for all under-18s.

We:

  • Oversee the safety and wellbeing of children across all ministries

  • Ensure FLBC meets legal and Queensland Baptists’ requirements

  • Review incidents, assess risks, and improve systems

  • Support our ministry leaders with training, resources, and encouragement

  • Promote a safe church culture where kids can grow in faith and confidence

Our committee includes:

Together, we look out for both the practical needs and the spiritual wellbeing of our kids and teens.

Most importantly, we believe that every child is precious to God—and we want FLBC to be a place where they are truly safe, seen, and supported.

If you have any questions or concerns about child safety at FLBC, please contact seb.henley@flbc.org.au or speak with one of the other Safe Children Committee members.
